Found a trick for aligning book cloth on the grain

I kept getting wavy covers because my book cloth wasn't on the grain. Tried wetting it and letting it dry under weights for 2 hours and it laid flat. The grain direction on cloth is way easier to see if you hold it up to a bright light. Anyone else deal with this issue on buckram specifically?

Oh man, wetting book cloth goes against every instinct I have too but sometimes you just gotta do what works. I've noticed that same kind of thing happens with a lot of materials - wood, paper, even denim will act totally different depending on which way the fibers run. It's like once you start paying attention to grain direction you see it everywhere and suddenly a bunch of random stuff starts making more sense.
