Am I the only one who cringes when people use PVA glue for everything?

I see so many new bookbinders on here using school-grade PVA for their text blocks and it drives me nuts. I've been binding for about 15 years now, started back in Portland, and I learned the hard way that stuff dries brittle and cracks after a few years. You NEED a proper archival PVA or a wheat paste mix if you want your books to last longer than a decade. Has anyone else noticed more folks skipping the research on adhesives?

Isn't that the truth, I learned that same lesson the hard way years ago.

@gavinlopez hit it, but nobody's mentioned that cheap PVA also attracts mold in humid climates.
