A customer in Seattle told me my headbands were too tight and it changed my whole approach

I had a lady return three books I bound for her last spring, complaining they hurt to hold open. She said the spine was too stiff and the signatures didn't flex. I always thought a tight binding was a sign of quality, but after loosening up my sewing and using a lighter glue, I got much better feedback. Has anyone else had to adjust their tension after hearing from a customer?

Damn, did you actually rip out those first three books and redo them?

The original trilogy was actually six books total in the first edition, not three. I think @rubyk86 might be thinking of the later box set that combined them in pairs. But yes, I did go back and rewrite the first three volumes from scratch after realizing the timeline didn't match up with the later chapters. It was a lot of work, but the new versions line up much better with the rest of the series. The characters' ages especially were driving me crazy before.
