A client's note about my headbands made me switch up my sewing method
I finished a custom leather journal for a regular client, and she wrote back that the headbands felt 'tight and a bit sharp' compared to her older books. I realized I was pulling the thread way too hard when sewing them on, which was compressing the spine. Now I use a lighter touch and check the tension after every few stitches. How do you all handle headband tension to keep them neat but comfortable?

Found a similar sweet spot with lighter pressure.

Totally get the firm pressure thing, I was the same. But @the_tara is right, lighter pressure actually gets deeper for me now.

Disagree on the lighter pressure thing, I mean for me it just doesn't get deep enough. I always end up going back to a firmer touch to really work anything out. Maybe it's just my muscles but that's what does it.
