That one Tuesday my book club picked a 900 page monster and somehow it worked
I mean, back in like 2019 we were all about the slim literary stuff, you know, 250 pages max. Then someone in our group on Maple Street suggested this massive historical fiction saga, and I rolled my eyes thinking no one would finish it. But we gave everyone an extra two weeks and did a slow read, like 50 pages a week with check in posts on our forum thread. By the time we met at The Corner Cafe, every single person had something specific to argue about, even the quiet guy who never talks. Has anyone else had a book that seemed too long actually make the debate better instead of worse?

Give them a set page number each week and watch the arguments get way more detailed.
