Showerthought: A friend told me my book club questions were too obvious after our 'Project Hail Mary' chat.
She said 'You're just asking if we liked it, try asking what we'd do in Grace's place.' Now I always prep one 'what would you do' question for each meeting. Anyone else have a trick to get deeper talks going?

Honestly, that "what would you do" trick is a total game-changer for getting real answers.

That's a solid move, makes people actually think. My first book club question was so bad we almost voted to read the SparkNotes instead. Sticking to "what would you do" saves everyone from that shame.
