That's so true about talks getting more real. I used to think my notes made me sound smart, but dropping them actually let people open up way more.

But notes keep you from forgetting stuff. They can make talks clearer, not less real.

My old notes were basically just a map of my own panic, lmao. Half of it was just me trying to guess what smart thing to say next. Once I left the notebook at home, the chats got way messier but way more honest. We actually started disagreeing and figuring stuff out together instead of just taking turns reading our prepared lines. Kind of embarrassing how long it took me to see that.
