I've come to enjoy when book club debates get petty

Last month, we spent twenty minutes fighting over a character's haircut in the novel. People called it a waste, but I found it revealing. It showed how we all picture characters differently based on small clues. Like in 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' arguing about Scout's dress color can lead to bigger talks about innocence. These silly points make discussions feel real, not like a school test. I think embracing the trivial stuff keeps our club from getting boring.

Honestly, we once fought about a character's socks for way longer.
