Vent: My cheap flux core wire let go on a 12-inch fillet weld in Gary

Ran a full pass on a support bracket with a budget spool I grabbed from a supply house near the Crown Point exit, and it cracked right down the center after cooling. The metallurgy was full of inclusions, and I had to grind it out and redo the whole joint with ER70S-6 mig wire instead. Has anyone else had a cheap consumable fail on a critical weld, or do you stick to name brands no matter the cost?

Hate when that happens, man. Cheap wire is a gamble every time and it always bites you on the worst possible job.
