Update: my first solo tube sheet job on a 60 inch boiler passed hydro on the first try
I was sure I had a leaker in the lower row after rolling 84 tubes by hand, but the inspector said she held 1.5x with zero weep on Friday. My foreman just nodded and handed me a fresh grinder wheel, which is the closest thing to a parade a boilermaker gets. How many of you got your first hydro pass without having to re-roll anything?
84 tubes by hand and not one leaker? That's some kind of luck and skill combo right there lol. A grinder wheel from the foreman is basically a standing ovation in our world.
