Unpopular opinion: that old union hand in Gary was right and I was the problem
Worked a 6 week turnaround at a refinery in Gary last spring and a guy named Walt with 31 years in said straight to my face that I was rushing my tube pulls and would pay for it. I blew him off at the time, but we lost half a shift re-rolling two tubes that scored because I was muscling the expander instead of letting it seat. How many of you actually slow down for the old guys, or do you have to eat the rework like I did?
