Took the stick welder over the wire feed on a tight overhead job

Had a 4 inch schedule 80 line up on a scaffold in Gary with barely room to swing an arm, picked the stick over my MIG because of wind and wobble. Took almost twice as long but zero rework, anyone else trade speed for control on cramped spots?
