Took me 3 blowdowns to finally listen about steam trap maintenance

Old timer at the local union hall told me I was wasting fuel by skipping monthly checks on my traps. I finally pulled one apart and found a stuck disc that was dumping live steam. Saw a 15% drop in my fuel bill the next month. Anyone else have a simple fix that saved them that much?

I read a study last year that claimed bad steam traps can cost a plant 20% of their fuel bill, so your 15% savings makes total sense. Did you check the condensate return line pressure after you fixed it?
