Swapped out oxy-acetylene for a plasma cutter on a job last week

Honestly, I always thought torch cutting was the only way for thick plate, but a buddy let me borrow his Hypertherm and it cut through 3/4 inch like butter. Has anyone else made the switch and found it way cleaner?

Keep your air dry and the consumables last way longer...

@finleyh89 nailed it with the dry air tip, learned that the hard way after my first set of consumables burned up in a week. Maybe it's just me, but switching to plasma felt like cheating after years of wrestling with a torch. Really does cut cleaner, as long as the compressor keeps up.
