Picked up a trick for spotting microfissures under bright light.
Catching them early saves a ton of rework.

Catching them early saves a ton of rework" is the most optimistic way to look at it. Or you could just not look under the bright light and live in happy ignorance. Now I'm gonna be staring at everything hoping not to see tiny cracks. Thanks for that. My weekend project just got a lot less fun.

Happy ignorance beats staring at cracks any day.

Ignorance might feel good for a bit, but missing a small crack now means a huge fix later. Like on a painted wall, a tiny fissure can spread and ruin the whole surface if you don't catch it early. Or in tile work, a microfissure might let water in and damage the subfloor. Spending a few minutes with a bright light saves hours of rework down the line. It's not about killing the fun, it's about avoiding a nightmare project later. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I'd rather know early and deal with it.
