I finally hit 1,000 welds on my pressure vessels log and nobody cared
Been keeping a personal tally of every weld I complete for the past 14 months, mostly for my own sanity and to track how my technique holds up. Yesterday afternoon, weld number 1,000 was just a simple 6-inch nozzle on a 2-inch thick shell in our shop near Tulsa. I told my partner on the crew and he just shrugged and asked if I was buying lunch. Honestly, the number matters to me because it means I've done this trade long enough to see my early mistakes in the scrap bin and fix them without thinking. Has anyone else kept a personal counter like this, or am I the only one weird enough to care about the milestone?

That 6-inch nozzle on 2-inch shell, did you track how many of those first 100 welds you had to grind out and redo versus the last 100?
