Honestly, I was setting up a new tube bender in the shop last month and completely messed up the first bend on a 2-inch stainless line.
The old foreman, Mike, walked over and just said 'You're fighting the machine. Let it do the work.' He showed me how to adjust the pressure setting on the Ram-Pro model we have. I was using way too much force on the handle. Ngl, I've been doing it the hard way for like five years. What's one simple tip that changed how you run a specific piece of shop equipment?

Tell me more about the pressure setting adjustment on that Ram-Pro. Was it a specific dial you never touched, or did Mike show you a whole different way to read the gauge that you'd been ignoring?

Man, it's wild you ask that. Mike didn't show me a new dial or a secret way to read the gauge. He pointed out the whole unit vibrates differently at the ideal pressure, a kind of hum you feel in your hands. I was just staring at the numbers, ignoring the physical feedback it was giving me. Turns out I had it cranked way too high for years, which explains the uneven wear. I was treating it like a simple on/off switch instead of a tuned tool.

Ever feel like you're the only one who missed the obvious? I was so focused on the dial like allen.ivan said, I didn't even notice the tool was basically screaming at me. My hands are still learning to listen, I guess.
