Why does nobody talk about card sleeves splitting mid-game and ruining a whole night
Hosted game night at my place in Akron last Friday and about an hour into a 4 player round of Dominion, a sleeve on my buddy's best card split right at the corner. He shuffled it back in without noticing, and for the next 20 minutes we're all drawing this one card that looks marked because the sleeve peels up when you hold it. We ended up calling the whole game because nobody could stop staring at it, and honestly it soured the mood for the rest of the night. I went through my whole box of about 300 sleeves after everyone left and found 6 more that were already cracking at the edges. Do you all replace sleeves on a schedule or just wait until one blows up on you like this?
Six more out of 300 is wild to me, that is like 2 percent of your whole stash already failing. The part that gets me is your buddy shuffling the split one right back in, that is a rookie move even if he did not know. I just wait for them to blow up but now I am scared to check my own box.
