Warning: My friend said board game geeks are too nice and it's a problem

Talked with my friend Sarah at game night. She said our group never gives real feedback on new games. We just say 'that was fun' even if it was bad. She pointed out a game we played for 2 hours last month that everyone hated. Nobody said anything. We just packed it up. She said being too nice stops games from getting better. It hit different because she's right. We avoid hard talks. How do you give honest feedback without being a jerk?

Read a blog post about using "I like, I wish, I wonder" for feedback. It frames things as personal reactions instead of attacks. Could help keep things chill.

Is this really a whole blog post topic? Sounds like basic manners to me. People are overcomplicating simple conversations.

Sarah's got a point, doesn't she? Our group started doing a quick thumbs up, middle, or down vote after each new game. It takes the pressure off and you get a real read on how people felt without anyone having to explain their vote. That simple system stopped us from wasting money on more copies of a game only one person liked. Maybe your group could try something like that?
