Visited a board game cafe in Portland and found a group playing Monopoly for 6 hours straight

I stopped by this place called The Game Knight last weekend and there was this table of four adults dead silent, staring at a Monopoly board like it was a high stakes poker game. One guy had a notebook tracking every dollar and property trade, which felt a bit much for a game that usually ends friendships. Has anyone else witnessed board game 'pros' taking a casual game way too seriously?

The notebook guy definitely has a Monopoly spreadsheet at home too.
