Vent: Everyone says Gloomhaven is the best co-op game but my group fell apart after 4 sessions
We hit scenario 7 and spent 2 hours arguing over ability card combos before one guy just rage quit and now the box is collecting dust in my closet has anyone else had a hyped game totally flop with their group?

That line about "arguing over ability card combos" really hits home. I've noticed this pattern in a lot of hobbies actually, not just games. Everyone gets so caught up in finding the perfect way to do something that they forget to just do it and have fun. I see it with guys at work who spend an hour picking out the right drill bit for a simple job, or folks in my neighborhood who get paralyzed trying to pick the best paint color. We build up this idea of needing the "right" everything, and when it doesn't click perfectly, the whole thing just falls apart instead of being flexible.

@terry_carter15 nailed it with that drill bit example. Happens everywhere, not just games. My buddy spent three weekends researching lawn mowers last year, ended up buying one, then never used it because it wasn't "the perfect one" for his yard. People get so hung up on the idea of having the optimal setup that they forget the whole point is just to start and figure it out along the way. That Gloomhaven box will probably sit there until someone decides they'd rather have a messy fun time than a perfect disaster.
