Thinking about how our game nights changed after we all had kids

Three years ago, we had a regular group of six that would meet every Friday at my place in Austin for heavy games like Gloomhaven. Last month, we finally got together again and played Ticket to Ride with our toddlers running around. It was chaotic but fun in a new way. Has anyone else found good games for a mixed group of adults and young kids?

My group's descent into family gaming was a masterclass in lowered expectations. We went from planning complex strategies to just hoping the game pieces wouldn't end up in someone's diaper. Rhino Hero is a solid choice because when the tower falls, the kids think it's the best part.

@the_casey "lowered expectations" is the real family game strategy.

Wait, did you just say game pieces ended up in a diaper? That's a whole new level of family gaming chaos. Rhino Hero is basically survival mode with cardboard. The tower crashing is the only predictable part of the night. Honestly, it's a miracle any game gets finished.
