Serious question, has anyone else spent $80 on a board game organizer insert that just made setup take longer?

Oh man, that's the worst. I bought a fancy wooden one for Scythe and I swear it adds ten minutes. All the little trays have to come out in a specific order or nothing fits back in the box. Feels like I paid to make the game more annoying.

Wait, you really think that's the worst? I used to be all about those fancy inserts, thought they were the best thing ever, but after hearing you and Seth talk about it I'm starting to wonder if I've just been putting up with a headache for no good reason.

Yeah, I've been there too. I had a similar problem with an insert for Terraforming Mars. What finally worked for me was just taking half the pieces out of the fancy trays and putting them back in baggies. It sounds dumb, but it cut setup time in half. I kept the trays for the player pieces and boards, but the resource cubes just live in bags now. It's a weird fix, but it made the game playable again without the fuss. I saw what @riley_taylor said about Scythe and it's the same feeling, paying for something that just gets in the way.
