My copy of Gloomhaven just had a major component failure mid-campaign
The plastic standee for the Cragheart class snapped right at the base last Friday during our weekly game night. It happened when I was trying to slot it into a new hex. I tried super glue but the bond is weak and it keeps falling over. Anyone know a good source for replacement standees that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Yeah, the super glue thing is a classic trap with these plastic standees. The problem is the bond area is so tiny it just can't handle the stress of being picked up over and over. What you really need is a small bit of reinforcement. I've fixed a few like this by wrapping the broken spot tightly with a thin strip of electrical tape after gluing. It's not pretty, but it adds a lot of strength and keeps it standing up for the rest of your campaign.

Oh man, that is the WORST feeling. Did the whole table just groan when it happened? I swear, the Cragheart standee is cursed, mine has a permanent lean from a similar crack. Emma's tape trick is solid for a quick fix, but if you want a more permanent fix, a tiny bit of two-part epoxy worked way better for me than super glue. It's a bit messy but it actually holds the weight.

Tbh the real problem is the base slot being too tight. Heating it up with a hair dryer for a few seconds before you push the standee in can stop the crack from happening in the first place.

Honestly, umathompson mentioning the cursed Cragheart standee makes me glad I switched to using colored tokens instead.
