Hot take: A wall-mounted board game display screams 'try-hard' geek. Keep it functional with shelves or go all out for show?

Isn't it weird how people get so heated about display choices? I mean, my friend's husband mounted his vintage Trivial Pursuit edition like it was modern art and it caused a whole thing at their game night. Some folks thought it was cool dedication, others whispered it was pretentious. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather see games actually get played, even if they're just stacked on a shelf.

Hey @the_jennifer, I see your point about games being played, but mounting that Trivial Pursuit could be a way to honor its legacy. In my experience, displays like that often become conversation starters themselves.

The "pretentious" whispers remind me of my buddy who framed his original Monopoly board after it fell apart. He said displaying it was celebrating how many family fights it caused, which is honestly funnier than playing it. Some displays are just inside jokes you hang on the wall, lol.
