Game night rulebook fight changed how I teach new players
Last month at a friend's place in Portland, we had a full table for Spirit Island and two new guys kept arguing over the invader phase. The rulebook was getting passed around every five minutes and we lost about an hour of play time. Now I do a 10 minute teach before anyone sits down, and I also print out a quick reference sheet for each person. It's not perfect but it cut our setup and confusion way down. Anyone else have a bad teaching moment that made them switch up their approach?
