Finally saw my Euro group's win rate jump after 3 months

I've been playing with the same 4 people every Friday night, and for the longest time we were stuck winning maybe 1 in 5 games. After we started doing a quick 10-minute debrief after each game, our win rate went up to about 3 in 5 over the last 3 months. Has anyone else found that talking through your strategies afterwards actually helps you play better?

Wait is that why we started losing harder after our debriefs? We just sit there and roast each other's dice rolls for 15 minutes. Sounds like you guys actually figured out the whole learning thing while we were busy building grudges.

Yeah but was it the talking or was it that you guys finally stopped blaming each other? I feel like with my group half the time the debrief just turns into one dude defending his bad call for 10 minutes. Though I gotta admit when we actually do break down a loss without getting defensive it does help us see patterns we were blind to before. The real trick is keeping it short like you said, if it goes past 10 minutes people start zoning out.

Haha yeah @martin.felix hit the nail on the head there. It's like half the debrief is just people trying to win a second argument instead of actually learning anything useful. Gotta respect the ones who can admit a bad call without turning it into a TED talk.
