Critique on my game night hosting style stung but helped

Someone on the sub told me I was overexplaining rules and killing the fun, so now I hand out a one-page summary first and let people figure it out as we go. Has anyone else cut back on rules talk and seen a better vibe at the table?

Wait, you actually handed people a printed summary and it worked better than just explaining it yourself? That's wild, but I guess it makes sense - nobody likes sitting through a lecture before they can start having fun.

Read a study once that said people remember stuff way better when they see it written down.
