That $20 anvil I grabbed at a farm auction near York, PA is a diamond in the rough
Last month I drove out to a farm auction in York, Pennsylvania and picked up a beat up 150 pound anvil for only 20 bucks. It had about a 1/8 inch chip on the heel and some rust, but after cleaning it up I found a Trenton brand stamp from the early 1900s. The face is still dead flat and the rebound is better than my old cast iron one. Has anyone else found real gems at farm auctions or is that just a lucky break?

I found a perfect 200 pound Fisher for $35 at a barn sale in Ohio last spring!

$35 for a 200 pound Fisher? That's not a steal, that's a felony.

Oh man, that's such a steal! I remember finding a beat-up Craftsman table saw for $20 at an estate sale years ago. The guy said it didn't work and I just knew it was a carburetor issue since it was an old model. Spent a weekend cleaning it up and swapping a part and it runs like new now. Those barn sale finds can be the best if you know what you're looking at. Ever have a deal like that where you knew more than the seller?
