Spent three hours trying to get a clean weld on a simple gate hinge.

Kept getting porosity until I realized my flux core wire was from a batch that got damp in the garage. Anyone know a good way to store it to stop that happening again?

Yeah, those silica packets like @fox.derek said are a lifesaver.

Actually, silica gel packets are the ones you want, not silica.

Oh man, that's the worst. I had a whole spool go bad on me last year, same thing. I keep mine in one of those big plastic tubs now with a handful of those silica gel packets you get in shoe boxes. Seems to do the trick.
