Showerthought: A customer at the farmers market last weekend asked if I ever get bored making the same hooks.
I told her the steel never heats the same way twice, and she just nodded and said 'so it's like people'. Has anyone else had a simple comment just stick with them like that?

That customer nailed it. The variation is the whole point. People pay for the human touch, the slight differences. Lean into it when you talk about your work. Tell them about the knot in the wood or the scratch on the leather that gives it character. It turns a flaw into a feature and makes the piece special.

Man, that's a great one. I had a guy at a craft fair tell me my leather wallets all had a different "personality" because of the natural marks in the hide. It made me look at my own work totally differently, like each piece really does have its own story.
