Shoutout to the old timer at the Tucson flea market who showed me a trick for drawing out a taper without a power hammer.

Reminds me how much practical knowledge just evaporates now. We watch a YouTube tutorial instead of asking the guy next to us. Saw it at the hardware store last week, this older guy was showing a kid how to fix a wobbly chair leg with a wax ring, something you'd never find in a manual. That flea market trick probably came from fifty years of doing it wrong and then figuring out the right way. Feels like we're losing those little hand-me-down fixes.
