My farrier buddy said my punch looked too short and I've been thinking about it all week
He glanced at it for two seconds at his barn in Lubbock and said a short punch makes you lean into the strike instead of letting the hammer do the work. Tried a longer one yesterday on a pair of tongs and the holes came out cleaner on the first heat. Anyone else change their punch length and notice a difference, or is it just me?
