Made my 500th bottle opener last Tuesday and finally admitted my tongs were the problem
I keep a tally on the shop wall for every opener I finish, and hit 500 last Tuesday. For two years I blamed my hammer control for the bent tails, then a guy at the Ohio forge meet watched me work and said my tongs were too short for the stock. Switched to a longer pair I forged myself and the last 40 came out straight on the first heat. Any of you run longer tongs for small work, or do I just have short arms?
