I just hit 500 custom knives made in my home forge
It hit me when I logged the order in my book last night. Started this as a side thing after my shop job closed in '08, just fixing tools and making simple blades. The first fifty felt like a mountain. Now, looking back, it's not just the number. It's seeing how my style changed from copying old designs to finding my own flow. I still use the same basic anvil I bought used twenty years ago, but everything else has evolved. Anyone else get surprised by a milestone that snuck up on them?

That's a huge deal, man. The part about your style changing really hits home. It's easy to get stuck just making what you think people want. Finding your own flow is when it stops being a job and starts being your actual work, you know? That anvil being the only constant is a cool way to see how far you've come. Congrats on 500, that's a serious amount of focus.

That's a whole lot of sharp objects, congrats. Johnp98 is right about the anvil, that old thing has seen some stuff.
