Unpopular take: I actually hated the second season of that big mystery show

I was at a watch party in Austin last month and when the credits rolled on episode 7, everyone was losing their minds. One guy, Mike, looked at me and said 'that twist changed everything, right?' I told him I thought it undercut the whole first season's buildup. He laughed and said I was overthinking it, that the show was just about the ride. But I kept pushing back, pointing out how the pacing dragged by episode 4 and the clues stopped mattering. He didn't get angry, just shrugged and said 'different strokes.' It stuck with me because I realized I value a tight story more than a shocking moment, and maybe that's rare in this community. Has anyone else felt let down by a popular season while everyone around you loved it?

Wait, Mike actually shrugged it off at a watch party? That's wild.
