Unpopular opinion: the slow burn style of shows like Dark used to be my favorite but now I can't stand it

I used to love shows that took 6 episodes to set up the plot, but after binging Succession last month I realized I prefer tight pacing where every scene matters. Has anyone else changed their mind on what makes a show bingeable as you've gotten older?

Oh man, I feel this so hard? I used to be all about those super slow atmospheric shows that took forever to get anywhere. Dark was my absolute favorite for that reason. But lately I find myself getting annoyed if an episode doesn't push the story forward in a real way. I recently tried to rewatch one of those slow burn shows and I was just bored. I think as I get older and my time is more limited, I just don't want to wait six hours for something to actually happen. Give me the tight pacing where every scene has a purpose and I'm hooked.

My buddy Matt was the SAME way. He swore by shows like The Leftovers and would get mad if I said it dragged. Last year he tried to rewatch it and texted me after three episodes like "I FORGOT how literally nothing happens for an hour at a time." He said he felt like he was watching paint dry waiting for the big moments. Now he's all about 30 minute shows where each episode feels like a mini movie. Time changes you I guess.
