Tried 'From' after ignoring it for months and binged all 3 seasons in a week

Kept seeing the show 'From' pop up on my MGM+ feed and thought it looked like a cheap Lost ripoff. Then my buddy in Cincinnati wouldn't stop talking about episode 4 of season 1 where they find the talismans. That hooked me hard. Anyone else sleep on a show and then get completely wrecked by it?

My husband and I put it off for nearly a year because the premise sounded too familiar. Once we started, we watched the first season in two days and had to force ourselves to slow down. The way the show builds its mystery is something special, the monsters feel genuinely threatening in a way most tv shows fail at. I think the showrunners learned from Lost's mistakes and actually plan to answer the questions they raise. We are counting down the days until season four comes out.

You mentioned the monsters feeling genuinely threatening, and that's something I don't see people talk about enough. Most shows make their monsters scary by having them jump out or make loud noises, but this show makes the fear come from how smart and patient they are. The way they wait outside doors or just stand still watching really gets under my skin. It feels more like real danger than just special effects.

Oh man, I felt that "too familiar" hesitation in my bones, my wife and I did the same thing for like four months. @blairtaylor nailed it too - the monsters in this show are terrifying because they're patient, not just loud, which is way creepier than any jump scare. Guess we're all just masochists waiting for season four to ruin our sleep schedules again.
