The first season of that new detective show felt so tight, but season two is a total mess.

I binged the whole first season in a weekend last month, every episode moved the main case forward. Now I'm three episodes into season two and they've introduced like five new side characters and the plot is all over the place. Did the writers just lose focus or what?

The second season of Broadchurch lost me with too many new suspects.

Honestly, that second season got messy with all the new faces. I just focused on the original family's story and ignored the extra noise. Made it way easier to follow.
