Showerthought: turning on subtitles got me through 4 seasons of a show I kept quitting
I tried watching The Wire three separate times over two years and always gave up around episode 4 because I couldn't follow who was talking. Last week I turned subtitles on and finished the whole first season in five days, the dialogue finally clicked. Does anyone else have a show that subtitles saved, or is it just me?

Man The Wire is like the number one show people say this about, the Baltimore accents and all the slang make it nearly impossible to catch everything on first watch. My tip is keep subs on but also don't rewind every time you miss a line, just let it roll and your brain catches up after a few eps. Deadwood was the one that got me, took me three tries before I caved and turned them on.
