Pro tip: I stopped skipping scenes and it made binge watching better
I always used to jump ahead to the action. After forcing myself to watch a full season without skips, the story made way more sense. Now I recommend giving every part a chance.

Better Call Saul has these long scenes with just Jimmy staring at a wall. I used to skip them, but then I realized they show his mental breakdown. The show builds tension so slowly that if you jump ahead, the big moments feel empty. Now I watch every second, and the payoff is huge. It changed how I see character development in all shows.

Totally get what you mean. Did the same thing with Mad Men at first. Skipped those quiet scenes of Don just staring out his office window. Felt like nothing was happening. Then it clicked that all that silence was the whole point. Shows his distance from everything. Now I watch those parts and they hit way harder. Makes you actually sit with the character's headspace.

I heard a film critic on a podcast say that skipping dialogue scenes ruins the rhythm of a story. Tbh, they compared it to fast-forwarding through the quiet parts of a song, where the buildup happens. Now I notice how much tension gets lost if I jump ahead, especially in shows like Mad Men. Those slow moments make the big reveals hit so much harder.
