My brother said he binged 'The Bear' in one sitting and it changed his mind about cooking shows
We were at his place in Chicago and he told me he watched all of season 2 in a single night. He said he used to think cooking shows were just calm background noise, but the stress and yelling in that show felt real, like his old kitchen job. Has anyone else had a show totally flip their view on a whole type of TV?

I watched the first season of The Bear in a weekend. Before that, I thought all restaurant shows were fake drama for TV. Seeing the panic over printer tickets and the real yelling in the walk-in fridge, it just clicked. Now I see the quiet tension in every cooking competition.

Get what you mean about seeing things differently now. @the_karen nailed it with the Office comparison. Once you know what's really going on behind the scenes, you can't unsee it. Makes those cooking shows feel like a whole other genre now.

Yeah that happens more than people talk about. A show can make you see a whole job or hobby differently, like how The Office made corporate work feel weirdly personal. It's like you get a backstage pass to the real stress and weird jokes. Now I can't watch those calm cooking competitions without thinking about the chaos happening off camera.
