I was watching shows all wrong for years and a friend's comment last night made it click.
I always watched one episode a night, like clockwork, for my 'me time'. My buddy came over and saw my queue for 'Severance' and said 'Dude, you're doing it wrong, that show is a one-sitting thing.' So I tried it. I watched four episodes in a row and it was a totally different experience. The tension and mystery actually built up like they were supposed to. I felt way more into the story. Has anyone else had a show completely change for you when you switched from weekly to binge watching?

Yeah, @xena1 is right about the brain rewire. I did the same thing with "The Bear" last month, watched the whole first season in a day. The stress and chaos of that kitchen just hit different when you don't get a break from it.

Totally get this. I used to be a hardcore "one episode per night" person too, thought it made things last longer. Then I tried binging "Dark" on a rainy weekend. Watching those episodes back-to-back was a game changer, the complicated timelines actually made SENSE when I didn't have a week to forget the details. It felt like I was solving the puzzle WITH the characters instead of just checking in on them. Completely changed how I watch mystery shows now.
