I used to hate slow burn shows but Severance totally flipped me

Visited a friend in Denver last month and he made me watch three episodes in one night. The way that show builds tension with every little office detail hooked me hard and I finally get why people love dragging out a story.

Hit me the same way, that elevator scene broke me.

I ugly cried through that whole elevator scene, five tissues in and my roommate walked in asking if someone died. The way the doors kept opening and closing on different stages of grief hit way too close to home. Meanwhile I couldn't even get my cat to look at me when I was having a bad day last week. Really puts our emotional depth in perspective when a fictional elevator does more heavy lifting than my actual support system.

Wait, am I the only person who thought that elevator scene was way too on the nose? I mean yeah it was sad but the whole "doors opening on grief stages" thing felt like they were trying way too hard to be deep lol. Sometimes a well timed cat ignoring you is more real than a magic elevator that understands human emotions better than your friends.
