Hot take: The Bear season 2 is overrated and stressful to watch
I finally caved and watched it last month after everyone kept telling me how genius it is. Look, I get it, the restaurant stuff is accurate and all. But after working a double at my place, the last thing I want is to come home and watch people yell at each other in a kitchen. That episode where they do the tasting menu prep gave me actual anxiety. Am I the only one who found it more exhausting than entertaining?

That tasting menu episode (Episode 6, right?) literally had me pacing my living room. I had to pause it twice just to catch my breath. It's like they captured every stressful kitchen shift I've ever had and turned it into a TV show, which is the exact opposite of relaxing.

Start pausing that episode just to breathe, because same. That whole tasting menu prep was wall to wall chaos with no breaks. I mean, it's good TV but it's not exactly the cozy comfort watch people hyped it up to be. Maybe I just need a show where nobody is screaming for once.

Episode 8 had me gripping my couch cushions like a lifeline when the tickets started coming in faster than they could plate. I literally yelled at my TV "just season the steak and move on!" like that would help anything. My cat ran out of the room and gave me this look like I'd lost my mind. Honestly, if I'm this stressed watching it, imagine how the actual chefs feel. Maybe I need to switch to those Japanese water meditation videos before I give myself a stress ulcer.
