Had to pick between The Wire and The Sopranos for my next binge

Finished my last show on Friday and stared at my watchlist for an hour. Ended up going with The Wire because my coworker said it's the best TV ever made. Three episodes in and I'm already lost in the street politics and the way they write the cops. The Sopranos has been on my list for years too, so I'm wondering if I should've started there first. Has anyone else struggled with this choice or am I overthinking it?

Did you check out The Wire's second season yet? That's where it really clicked for me. I had the same choice a few years back and started with The Sopranos first. The family drama is so raw and personal, the therapy scenes with Dr. Melfi really pulled me in. But three episodes into The Wire and you're already hooked on the street politics, that sounds about right. I'd say stick with it, because once you finish The Wire, The Sopranos will feel like a totally different kind of treat. Both are masterpieces in their own way, you can't really go wrong.
