Had to pick between finishing 'Severance' or starting 'Shogun' last night
My buddy said I HAD to watch 'Shogun' right away, but I was already three episodes into 'Severance'. I chose to finish the first season of 'Severance' in one sitting, which took about five hours. The ending completely messed with my head, but now I feel behind on the 'Shogun' hype. Anyone else face a choice like this between two huge shows?

I used to always chase the new thing, but binging Severance was totally worth it.

Is it just me, or does splitting focus between two shows actually make both of them worse? I get the appeal of binging Severance, but that show is so dense you gotta let it breathe between episodes. I tried to watch it all at once and ended up zoning out during some key scenes because my brain was fried. Shogun is a different kind of show too, slower and more about atmosphere, so it needs its own space. Sometimes the best move is to just pick one and stick with it, not worry about what you're missing out on.

Honestly, you made the right call finishing Severance. That show needs your full attention to really get the mind-bending payoff. Tbh, @jordanc32 is onto something about not always chasing the new thing. I tried to split my focus like that with Dark and Succession a while back, and I totally missed important clues in Dark because I was distracted. Shogun isn't going anywhere, and it's probably better to dive into that world with a clear head, not while you're still thinking about Lumon.
