Found out Twin Peaks was cancelled after season 2 because of a 1991 TV Guide cover, not the ratings
The cover showed Laura Palmer's killer and ABC got mad the secret was out, so they moved it to Saturday nights and killed it. I saw this on a wiki page last week while trying to figure out why season 2 goes off a cliff. Anyone know if the Return was always planned or did Lynch just get mad later?
