Finished a 12-season show in 6 days and my coworker thought I was lying

So I was telling my coworker Dave at lunch yesterday that I binged Supernatural from start to finish in less than a week. He looked at me dead serious and said "no way, that's like 280 episodes or something." I pulled up my Netflix history on my phone and showed him the timestamps from 3am sessions. He just shook his head and called me a machine lol. Anyone else get called out for their binge speed by friends?

Read an article once that said the average person needs like 70 hours to finish a show that long. People really don't get that some of us can just lock in and ignore sleep for a few days. I had a buddy who watched all of The Office in five days and his girlfriend thought he was hiding something from her. It's just a different kind of focus I guess.

Told my wife I watched all of Breaking Bad in a weekend and she checked the math on her phone. 62 episodes at 47 minutes each is like 48 hours of content plus sleep and work. She said I must have watched it at 2x speed or was lying. I learned people just don't understand what being unemployed and having zero life looks like.

Honestly I used to side-eye people who claimed they watched entire series that fast, but @fox.derek's point about that "different kind of focus" makes a lot more sense now. Is sleep really that important anyway?
