Finally tried binging a weekly release show instead of waiting...

I always thought waiting for a full season to drop was the only way to go. For years I'd avoid shows like The Bear and Only Murders in the Building until the whole thing was out. Then last month I gave in and started watching From week by week... and I actually liked it more. Having to wait 7 days made each episode stick with me longer, plus I got to chat about theories online while it was airing. Made me realize I was missing out on that shared experience by holding out. Now I'm curious if anyone else finds weekly shows better for certain genres... or am I just impatient?

Yeah @daniel_lane30 totally nailed it with that dread thing. That weeklong gap makes the scary or tense moments hit way harder because you're just sitting with it. For slower burn mysteries I get why waiting works, but anything fast paced just makes me feel like I'm missing half the show.

...so you're saying the weeklong gap made the show hit different, right? I mean, was it the mystery itself that kept you thinking, or more the fact that you couldn't just skip to the end? For me, with shows like From, it's all about that dread hanging over me for seven days... but I could see how a comedy like Only Murders might not have the same effect. Actually, which genre weekly shows work best for you now that you've tried it? Because I feel like slow burn horror or heavy drama really benefits from the wait, but fast paced stuff just leaves me annoyed.

Used to hate weekly drops, but the dread from that wait totally hooked me.
